The 2nd meeting of the Task Force Committee on CNG headed by Chief Controller of Explosives, Shri T. R. Thomas, was organized under the aegis of GAIL Gas Limited at GAIL Training Institute, Noida on 25th and 26th July 2011. The meeting was also attended by Shri R. C. Kaul, Joint Controller of Explosives (Jt. CoE), Shri D. K. Gupta, CoE, Shri Ashendra Singh, CoE, Shri K. S. Rao, Deputy CoE, Shri M. Ravindran, CEO GAIL Gas, Shri C. A. Rashid, MD, Bhagyanagar Gas, besides committee members from CGD companies such as Indraprastha Gas, Mahanagar Gas, Adani Gas, Sabarmati Gas, GSPC, etc. As per the programme, the committee members visited several CNG stations in Delhi, Greater Noida and Faridabad of Indraprastha Gas and Adani Gas. The committee members deliberated on a wide range of issues related to safety and efficiency of CNG systems. The issue related to condensate in the natural gas was given much weightage during the deliberations and it was desired by the CCoE that quality of gas needs to be improved drastically in order to ensure the safety of CNG cylinders.
